Cedar planked dishes are on the rise, and for good reason! The added smokiness and convenience planks offer make them a great option to spice up your grilling repertoire. This recipe combines the farm fresh taste of summer with authentic flavor of wood-fired pizza.
Cedar Planked Parmesan Kale Pizza
GMG Gold Pellets
4 Cedar Grilling Planks
1 Pizza Crust, divided into 4 balls
2 c Kale, chopped
1/3 c Sage, chopped
2 c Parmesan, grated
1 tbsp Sea Salt
Soak your wood planks for an hour before using. They need to be soaked so they don’t catch fire while grilling.
Set your grill to 400 degrees
Roll the pizza balls into long rectangles trying to get them as thin as possible, matching the size of the 5”X11” plank.
Drizzle the plank with a bit of olive oil and spread it around, then add cornmeal – this is done so your pizza is less likely to stick.
Place the cedar planks and dough into the grill for about 7-10 minutes so the dough has a chance to bake before adding toppings
Add the toppings and let them continue to cook for another 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the crust is golden brown.
